• 膨大的馬鈴薯狀部位並不是球根，而是可儲存水分與能量的塊根／caudex。
• 冬季葉片全部脫落、只留下裸露塊根時，植物仍可能只是處於自然休眠。
• 其纖細藤莖會自然纏繞支架，因此可利用圓環、棚架或植栽支柱引導造型。
